By combining an efficient 1.5L gasoline engine with 122 HP at 6000 rpm and 128 lb-ft. of torque at 1000 to 1500 RPM. Equipped with Honda's IMA parallel hybrid system, the CR-Z offers lower emissions of all exhaust gasses, while providing an engaging driving experience. The flexibility of the IMA parallel hybrid system means that it can be used with a manual gearbox, allowing drivers to exploit the broad spread of torque, while maintaining excellent fuel economy of 47 mpgUS combined on the NEDC. The CR-Z has been fitted with a 3-Mode Drive System which allows the driver to choose between three driving modes. These selection alters the responses of the throttle, steering, idle stop timing, climate control and the level of assistance provided by the IMA system just as it does in the Honda Insight-II.
