british sports car engine
| Description Want your B to outpace today's cars? Visit us at bmcautos.com Brian's 1980 MGB V6. 3.4L 'L32' out of a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird donor-mobile. The engine is completely stock. The PCM programming is completely stock. Headers, intake and alloy flywheel are the ONLY variations from stock. The engine sat for 7 or 8 years with higher miles on it and when we finally pulled the leaves and debris from it, dropped it in the car, we had to bang on the injectors to allow them to operate- that's how badly it was gummed up. This video took place 10 months after it first fired up but the car had been sitting all winter and was only driven for 45 minutes before the simple tests. It was run with oxygenated 87 octane that sat all winter. Excuses? NONE! An understanding that this had no prior tuning is all that I ask for. Oh, I suppose we should mention that the car had new plugs and wires put into it 10 months ago and one coil pack went bad so we replaced that with a used one. (Big time stuff!) Drive an MGBV6 and you will not believe the power due to its low total weight. Most people give claims and not the actual sheet or they will show the dyno run, without a slip. This video shows the actual results at the end. The video in front of it forwards what was involved in setup before the test procedures. |
