Quicklaunch is dedicated to launching rocket propellant and other consumables into orbit using a hydrogen gas gun. Quicklaunchers are related to the SHARP launcher, originally at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. More than 90% of the mass required for manned Mars and Lunar exploration is propellant. The Quicklaunch breakthrough will result in costs less than $250/lb to propellant depots in Low Earth Orbit. These low costs will enable manned space exploration of the solar system in our lifetime. Johns talk will include the history of gun launch to space, from the popularizers to the practitioners. A brief physics overview will be given on hydrogen gas guns as well as electric guns. An animation will portray a Quicklauncher delivering propellant to a depot in Low Earth Orbit. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.GoogleTechTalkshttp://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/tXKDgv1AVoG88PLl8nGXmwTechGoogle Tech Talk December 15, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Dr. John Hunter, President of Quicklaunch, Inc. Alveolar sacs are the terminal portions of the breathing tube system. Composed of up to thirty tiny air pouches, or alveoli, they provide a lung a total surface area of about 850 square feet for the exchange of gases. Alveolar walls, composed of a single layer of cells, and the thin boundaries of capillaries---a barrier only one twenty-five thousandth of an inch thick---are all that separate blood and air. Exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen across this barrier is completed in only a fraction of a second. Terminal bronchioles carry air to and from alveolar sacs. Cells lining bronchiole walls bear cilia---minute hairs whose beating action prevents large dust particles from entering the alveolar sacs. Macrophages on the inner alveolar surface ingest and destroy dust, soot and other foreign particles. These cells are the body's main line of defense against airborne bacteria drawn into the lungs. Connective tissue fibers form a frame around the alveoli and support their delicate walls. Lymph vessels carry excess tissue fluid away from alveoli. Pulmonary venules take oxygen-rich blood back to the heart. Pulmonary arterioles conduct carbon dioxide rich, oxygen depleted blood to the aveoli. Blood capillaries form a meshwork around the aveoli. A classic italian recipe ideal for both adults and kids. *** Hi and welcome to the GialloZafferano kitchen, today we'll be preparing together the potato omelette: it's an easy and rustic main course that both adults and kids will like. Let's see together what ingredients we'll need: Freshly grated nutmeg 6 medium eggs 1 clump of parsley Pepper / salt 1 lb (500 g) of potatoes 5-6 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil 1 cup (100 g) of grated Parmesan cheese Let's make together the potato òmelette: First of all, I've peeled and cut the potatoes into slices less than half an inch thick, or if you prefer you can dice them. Now boil them in salted water until cooked but not mushy. Put the eggs into a large bowl... and beat them with a fork. Now we can add the grated Parmesan cheese... the chopped parsley... salt... pepper... and the freshly grated nutmeg... to taste of course. Blend everything well and finally add the boiled potatoes, now lukewarm. Pour the oil into a saucepan of about 9-10 inches in diàmeter. The oil should be very hot and cover the whole pan. Once it's hot, add the mixture. Now spread it evenly... turn up the heat to medium... and cover with a lid. 15 min. -- medium heat It's time to flip the òmelette over: first of all wear an oven glove to avoid getting burnt and shake the saucepan to make sure the òmelette is loosened from the bottom... as you can see now it's loosened from the pan ...yellowsaffronhttp://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/hxU-cVEOaJOwCaSuBoZ9QgHowtoToday we'll learn how to prepare a simple and quick dish: the potato omelette. We have bestsellers that we keep in stock. We also do custom tiles. Clients use our online Echo Collection Catalog to color their tiles. Each tile is pressed to 3000 PSI. This fuses the layers and makes the tile very strong. The finished tile is 5/8" of an inch thick and the color layer is 1/8". Once the tile has cured, it will be packed, shipped, and installed. Sand, mud and corrosion combined with minerals in the deep Cape Hatteras, NC, waters to cloak every feature of Swedish-American inventor John Ericsson's ingenious machine, and they continued to envelop the 30-ton artifact after nine years of desalination treatment. So just this past month, conservators at The Mariners' Museum and its USS Monitor Center drained the 35000-gallon solution in which the massive engine was submerged for nine years and began removing the 2- to 3-inch-thick layer of concretion with hammers, chisels and other hand tools. Working slowly and carefully to avoiding harming the engine's original surface, they stripped off more than 2 tons of encrustation in their first week of work alone, gradually revealing the details of a naval milestone that had not been seen since the historic Union ironclad sank in a December 1862 storm. Get an insider's look at this work and the Monitor's engine out of the water for the first time in nearly a decade. Information from Jeff Johnston, program specialist with the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary: The Monitor's steam engine was rated at around 400 horsepower and capable of pushing the ship through the water at 6 - 6 1/2 knots. Howdy guys and gals, in this short video I show an example of a skim coat. We can apply skim coats over retaining walls, block walls, concrete, stucco or brick. A skim coat is a thinner coat than the traditional two coat system. It's usually about 1 inch to 3/8 of an inch thick for exteriors. Typical exterior stucco systems are finishes are 7/8 thick.
